How much of my portfolio is exposed to foreign currencies?

A currency question asks how much of a portfolio moves with an exchange rate rather than with the assets themselves. A fund priced in one currency can hold assets in several, so the exposure is rarely the currency on the ticket.

Worked through on a sample portfolio. The figures below are that portfolio’s, not yours.

Here’s the currency exposure of your portfolio (percent of total value):

CurrencyWeight (%)
EUR50,53%
USD22,77%
Crypto8,61%
Cash6,06%
Precious metal5,03%
TWD1,00%
JPY0,97%
KRW0,84%
HKD0,73%
GBP0,58%

What “foreign” means depends on your base currency. If EUR is your home currency, sum all non‑EUR weights to get your foreign currency exposure: 49,47% of the portfolio is held in currencies other than EUR.

Notes:

  • Crypto and Precious metal are shown as separate currency buckets in your allocation.
  • Currency coverage in the allocation is 100,00%, so the breakdown reflects your full portfolio.
