Is my currency exposure aligned with where I live and spend money?

A currency question asks how much of a portfolio moves with an exchange rate rather than with the assets themselves. A fund priced in one currency can hold assets in several, so the exposure is rarely the currency on the ticket.

Worked through on a sample portfolio. The figures below are that portfolio’s, not yours.

Here’s how your currency exposure matches where you live and spend money.

CurrencyWeight (%)Value (EUR)
EUR50,53%45.974,84 €
USD22,77%20.721,48 €
Crypto8,61%7.835,60 €
Cash6,06%5.510,23 €
Precious metal5,03%4.575,79 €

This breakdown shows that a majority of your portfolio (50,53%) is in EUR, with the next-largest exposure in USD (22,77%). If you live and spend in euros, your largest exposure is in the same currency; USD exposure is substantial but smaller. Crypto, cash and precious-metals exposures make up the remainder.

Notes:

  • The currency table above shows current allocation and value.
  • Currency coverage: 100,00% (all portfolio currency exposure is included).
